Did you know that the three most common ingredients found in most fertilizers are Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium? Each of these ingredients are essential to plant and grass growth, hence why they are present in fertilizers. Nitrogen promotes increses in chlorophyll (stuff that makes grass green), Phosphorus thickens roots and stems, and Potassium helps fight against stresses such as drought and cold.

Here are some tips for your lawn during winter...

1. Reduce traffic across your lawn

2. Keep sidewalks clear to encourage the use of them rather than your lawn.

3. Do not allow anyone to park their car on your lawn- this will kill the grass underneath.

4. Keep your lawn clean- remove items such as stray logs, toys, and even lawn furniture. This will avoid dead spots in the spring.

Happy Winter!!
